I am glad I got to see this tank.. I want to know specs though... have a bit of an equipment feitsh...
Electrobes, as for equipment, most of it you may not recognize. Like this prototype algae tray that sits above the water slightly under the lights. It is free to operate and is an experiment that proved it's worth. I will build a permanent one soon.

That is one of the coolest tanks I have ever seen. I never would have thought of stuff like bottles and asphalt to actually enhance a tanks apearence! Awesome job..

I absolutely LOVE the natural look! The bottles are like the cherry ontop! Your tank is probably the best I've seen on here because it looks so different than everyone elses! I back you up 100% for TOTM! All in favor for Paul B.... here here!

I can't believe this guys. Thank you very much. I am beside myself, I used to be three feet to the right but now I am over here. TravesTy, you like bottles? I love them. They make great coral holders too.

I give you my vote.

As another "oldie" reefer they don't know what it was like back then.
I'm glad the hobby changed and people know alot more now but I hate it when someone thinks theres only 1 way to have/do a reef.

I feel that TOTM shouldn't always be the pristine, uber acro tank. Fortunately Reef Keeping has featured thanks that are a little different, ie, the anenome tank.

Paul I think your tank would make a good addition to the TOTM lineup...certainly a tank everyone would find interested. Your methods are a little unusual, althoug based on 35 years of aquaria we can probably pick and choose what works for our tanks.

Cheers,
Jaret.

Um, the new nominations are coming in by the droves!

Actually, there's no need for more than one nomination to nominate someone.

Vote #2,394 here Paul!

Man, to think that that tank's been setup 8 years longer than I've even been alive is mind-boggling! A much-deserved TOTM!

arconom: It went to just the right spot. That's a private forum for tank of the month nominations. Good job!

Re: Nominate Paul B's 34 yr old reef for TOTM!

I meant to start a thread like this myself.
Congrats already, Paul.

I can't believe you guys are nominating this tank with all the beautiful reefs out there. I never thought of it as special, just different or maybe wierd.
Kass, you are another old guy, love your old tank by the way. Most of these guys cringe when I tell them we used to cure ich by putting in twenty pennies to the gallon or we would bleach coral with "Clorox" every few weeks to kill any live stuff on it. It's amazing that we got anything to live. I used to love those $7.00 blue devils in the seventees I thought they were the most beautiful fish I ever saw.
Today I caught a foxface in my reef to give it to someone on RC. After the thing stung me and I had to remove about half of the rock and water three days later I finally got him. My tank looks like a hurricane went through it but it's another look I am going for.
Thanks again guys and have a great day.
Paul
