Flasher Wrasse Q

I ordered a McCosker's flasher wrasse from marinedepotlive, the sent ma a Carpenter's Flasher wrasse instead. They credited me the full price of the McCosker and let me keep the carpenter. I really wanted the McCosker though, can these fish be kept together in a 180g tank?

in a tank that size i say you can..i had a carpenters and mccoskers in mine before..i would suggest using a specimen cup to allow the carpenters to get use to him..i leave mine in the cup for a few days to make sure he can hold his own in the tank

this is iffy, i had carpenters that could not stand any wrasse that had similar colors. What i would do is put them in a QT tank together with a clear divider between them till they stopped trying to attack each other or looked comfortable. I would do this no less then two weeks. This worked for a flame angel and coral beauty angel that wanted to kill each other. After that they just ignored each other

I am very interested in both of these wrasses ae well. Is it bad to try and keep these 2 in a tank together? Like for instance a 75 gallon. I thought I had read where people keep multiple males of diff species together. I think the wrasses are so beautiful but I dont want to get them and have them fight and kill each other. Would it just be better to select one species and get a male and several females?? I keep trying to find good info about them but I keep getting diff opinions. Any one have a good source for info on wrasses both flasher and fairy?

wrasseguy and oct2274 - beautiful av pics - WOW! what nice fish

Sorry for the highjack!!

I just picked up what was labled as a mccoskers flasher wrasse, since I have been wanting a flasher, and they are fairly uncommon where I live. After looking at some pics of mccoskers, I am beginning to think that maybe its not a mccoskers because its bottom fin is almost completely yellow, with a only a small stripe of pink through it. It is 3 inches right now, with only one elongated ray. Do mccoskers usually have a yellow bottom fin, or are they usually red?

I have just identified mine as a yellow fin flasher wrasse. Anyone have any info on their aggression, or are they similar to a mccoskers?
