I've never used it, but they did steal their logo from a phosphate article of mine.

Are you going to contact them? I sure hope so, as that is so wrong, both morally, ethically and perhaps legally.

Well I am sure randy did not design the figuration of that molecule (God or nature did).....besides if his picture is not copyrighted and is put onto the internet for the whole world I believe it is fair game.

but some props would be nice.

Randy made the image above. Since it was used with one of his published articles, I'm sure it has a measurable ownership, especially if he has the original artwork still on his computer.

well I don't know the legality of using images from online publications and if he is intitled to something by all means he should get it.

But they droped out the background and incorporated text to make a logo out of it. I would be curious to know if these minor changes were enough to bypass any need to credit him. (how do you give photocredit for a logo?)

Not trying to start an argument I just did not find it to be morally or ethically wrong.

No, it isn't something that I want to pursue. It was published in Reefkeeping, which is copyrighted and says so on each page.
