Liverock Question

I am going to the LFS later and i want to pick up some rock for my 90 but the tank has no water in it can i get the rock and put it in a trashcan even no the water will only be sitting for a couple hours and if i do will put a heater in and some flow possibly

If you put it in a container it should be plastic.

If you add water it should be salt water or you're giving your new rock a fresh water dip.That will kiil the organisms.

I've been told that you could wrap the rock in wet newspaper, and it should be ok certainly for a couple hours. I've never ordered LR online, but supposedly they ship rock wrapped in wet newspaper. So, if it's ok when being shipped, I bet you'll be fine for a couple hours.

Ideally though, you should put it in your trash can with saltwater, a heater, and a powerhead, just in case you have to keep them in there for longer than you expected.

If you wrap it in paper at the store and have them put some of their water on it it should be ok in a cooler for a few hours.

Some use the hand warmer packs you can buy.

i just might not get any because i dont have the water in the tank yet and the water wont be in there till tomorrow
