Has anyone used Chemi-Clean or Ultralife Red Slime Remover?

are either one of these good for removing red slime algea?

It will get rid of the red slime but won't get rid of the problem that is causing the slime so it will probably come back later.

Like he said - it works, but the slime will come back if you do not remove the problem - phosphates & nitrates. If you google 'red slime' the first link is :

if you use either, watch your skimmer. it'll go nuts and flood.

i'd shy away from using either of those if you can. usually if you just siphon it out every other day or so, the nutrients that are making it go nuts get siphoned out with it. so eventually, it dies down.

i'm actually getting a bit of a slime plague myself at the moment.

I have used the red slime remover. I think it was the chemi clean. It cam in a small bottle with a spoon. It works great. Did its job never had a problem.

Do turn off your skimmer though!

Chemi Clean always works for me.
