low magnesium, high calcium
I have magnesium in 820ppm( I throw daily magnesium tropic marin) and I want it to raise until 1300ppm, but whenever I throw magnesium now raises to the calcium and this in 490mg/l... that I can make to raise magnesium and that does not raise calcium...

I'm not sure why you saw a calcium effect, but if you use a supplement such as ESV or Kent's magnesium supplements, it will not impact calcium.
You will need a huge amount. This calculator shows how much: Reef chemicals calculator http://home.comcast.net/~jdieck1/chem_calc3.html and this article may be useful: Magnesium in Reef Aquaria http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/oct2003/chem.htm

That is a great article Randy. Last year my mag became very low and ultimatly I lost many organisms. To help, my LFS suggested I use Dolomite to my calcium reactor. Since then my mag level has been solid (or since i was able to bring the mag levels back up using epsom salts). But now I have a better understaing on why my alk has since been consistantly on the higher end of the desired range.

That is fine, yes. That is a great article Randy Thanks. Using a little less dolomite might allow the alk to decline if it is too high.
