My daughter goes to college near Dr Macs Place. I have stopped there a couple of times when visisting her. I have a couple of acros from there. Really nice place and good people. awesome selection too.

Nice pieces! Could use some closeups though. Dr. Mac is a great guy, have ordered from him several times...

Nice coral..

I like the names. From now on I'm calling my plain ol' red cap a "fireball cap"...

Yeah they have really nice pieces. I just bought a bunch this morning and they will be coming tomorrow. I've bought a bunch of corals from them before and have always been happy.

Dr Mac. saw this post and he just gave me a call explaining the how the frags are taken and their origin and all. Great customer service, thanks Dr Mac.

Some of these pieces from Dr Mac have been available for a while. They use to show WYSIWYG pictures of the fragments, about a week ago they changed the format to show pictures of the parent colonies instead.

IMO its a much better format. For instance, a frag of Acropora elegans looks butt-ugly, while developed table of elegans is unusual and beautiful. A chip of Leptoseris amitoriensis looks like just a piece of brown potatoe chip, the colony is still brown but the growth form is appealling.

Its better marketing for Mac's captive colonies, IMO. It makes me more inclined to purchase their stuff because it gives me a better idea what I'll have 2-3 years down the road. I wish Dr Foster Smith and other sellers or resellers of captive-propogated coral showed good pictures of their parent colonies.

As far a Pacific East Aquaculture, I've purchased from them and got good product, well packaged with good customer service. Highly recommended.

^ I agree, I have seen so many small frags and passed them up later realizing what the parent colony looked like and then I kicked myself for not buying them.
I like Dr. Macs stuff, when i saw it all in person at MACNA it looked just like his photos showed online, there didn't seem to be any touchup or photoshopping done.
I can't wait till i can order some Reserve corals from him
