what with a sailfin tang?

What do you suggest keeping with a sailfin tang? I hope to upgrade to a 125 this summer and am getting my list together.

A 125 would be best. Algea eater will pic all day. Also needs nori or seaweed and also eats frozen. Its always best to mix the diet up. Also very aggresive so if any other fish you will get are less aggressive then add them first. Least aggressive to most aggresive is best. Also plenty of hiding spots helps.

It is considered agressive? bummer. Yes, I am trying to figure out which fish I can put in the tank with him. I actually was given him and a yellow watchman goby. They were in a 40g breeder. I have them in a 40g long. right now the sailfin is small, but I know he will need the bigger tank as he grows. He seems to like the four feet and tends not to zoom the full length of the tank. As to algea, he has been doing a great job cleaning the rock up! I'm thinking about adding something like a percula clown. What do you guys think? (Please, no slamming the sailfin in a 4' tank! I will move him as soon as I have the 125g.)

sailfin tangs are not agressive but will/can be to other tangs and depending on how long they are established in a tank before additional fish are added. Overall, they are one of the more mild mannered tangs available.

I got my sailfin for free (coral nipper) and added him first. I have had no fish aggression. I keep a foxface and a coral beauty with him. He is my favorite fish and am upgrading just so I can keep him his entire life. $$$$$

Skimmer is being set up as is the sump. I recently upgraded to this tank for the sailfin (it will be a frag tank when I get the 125). Cured lr is probably at least 50 pounds. I have more dry that I may put in the sump. I plan to have a fuge in there as well. I have 2 15g cube tanks that I will be using for a sump. Right now I have multiple hob filters running carbon, phosban reactor, two big powerheads. This set up was only temporary to get the sailfin into a bigger tank (everything was moved from 3 nano tanks, no cycling). I had to plug a bottom hole in the overflow before running the sump. That should be set and ready for water later today.

I haven;t seen him nipping on corals. How bad are they about that? Glad to hear sailfins are the calmer tang. Thanks for the info!

What suggestions for future fish do you guys have?

I have a hippo tang with my sailfin. THey somtimes get into small
space arguments, but it quickly ends. I also have 1 clownfish,1 longnose hawkfish 1 golden head sleeper gobey,1 yellow angle 1 bleu damsel and 1 cleaner shrimp in my 130g tank and they all seem to get along without any mayjor things happening, and they have all been together now for at least 2 years now except for the gobey and the shrimp.

125 is small long term for sailfin. Thet get about 15-16 inches! it is rare to see one that big though.
