stainless steel screws and the coral
I've installed a magdrive pump in my sump and I noticed the stainless steel screws, and I was wondering if they will cause any harm to the coral.

? I've never noticed stainless screws on a mag drive and I have 1 in a small tank. Never created a problem for me though. In general it's a good idea to leave any and all metals out of your tank. Are you sure your pump is made for a submerged application (I too thought all mag's could be submerged)....
Maybe someone else will chime in?

Mag pumps are made to be submerged(their real applications are for ponds) If you submerge it then you may be causing a heat problem in your tank---watch your temp carefully.
I'm running a 3600mag to pump from a basement sump(9 feet head)--its noisier not in the sump but it does generate alot of heat.
