Yellowhead Jawfish w/ a Pinkspotted Goby
Has anybody had any experience with a Yellowhead Jawfish and a Pinkspotted Shrimp Goby in the same tank? I have a 4" Pinkspotted and as I understand they are one of the more aggressive shrimp gobies. Would a jawfish be OK to add to my 90 or will it most likely get beat up by the Pinkspot?

Pinkspotted can be aggressive to bottom-dwellers, but in a 90g. the jawfish should be able to get out of the way. I would make sure the fish are well-fed before adding the jawfish, but one thing not to do is turn the lights off when adding the yellowhead. If they don't have time to build their burrow, they will not feel safe and try to bail out. Good Luck!!!

Matt Sable - I wasn't aware of the last item. I have added them in the past and always thought it was best to add close to the night cycle. I may have to change that.
Thanks for the replys. |

I tried moving my jawfish from my 90 (when I made it BB) to my 39. He jumped the first night. I don't know if it was the stress of the move or if the resident fish ran him out (pink spotted goby, pair of percs, and a cherub angel). He had been the first fish in my 90 and I was so sad to lose him. I'd added him first b/c I knew they were timid, I wonder if it was just too stressful to be added to a tank where fish already had their territories laid out.
