Testing you water is a good indicater if your water is yellow in a white bucket you may want to increase or use carbon if your not already

I think 10% weekly is ideal.

IMO there is a wide range of acceptable water change percents. Lots of things like stocking, coral selection, equpiment, etc. can vary what you need.
If the 15 gallons is working for you, and you have no major issues going on (algae, nitrates, normal coral growth etc) then I would stick with it. Anywhere in the 5-15% per week or 10-25% per month range can work. Best wishes,

---by that I mean matching the salinity and temp exactly-- and allowing time for you to stablized your pH, alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium in your main tank. check your nitrate and ammonium levels--if zero reading --you don't really need to do water changes at this point--assuming you do not have a great bioload in your tank as yet. Nor should you have alot in your tank that is using calcium, magnesium and carbonates(alk) as yet.

I am running a 75 gallon main tank with a 55 gallon tank as a sump/fuge(probibly holds about 40 gallons)
I have been changing about 30 gallons or so about once every other week. everything seems to be working well so far, but it's a new tank. once everything gets established a little better, I will probibly change the water only once a month like I do with my FW tanks.

I do about 15g every 3 months or so in my 120g+29g sump. I also have a large skimmer (EuroReef 8-2), phosban, and try to ensure that my household doesn't feed to much. But under the current conditions, I've had great luck. I'm at 13 fish, and now I know I'm over my limit, as my tank is mostly SPS. The ammount of water to change and everything else are really whatever works for your setup, but I would suggest starting at 10% weekly and then seeing how it goes.
