strange growth help

I have what seems to look like a spider web type(strand) growing
in my system. I would like to know what this might be? what is causing this?and how do I get rid of this if it is somthing not good?

Oh, wait. Did you say it is a strand? It is probably a tube worm. Not harmful at all.

Do you mostly see it when the lights are low?

maybe mucus strands from a vermetid snail. hard to say without a pic, but that would be my guess based on the spider web description.

Could be a Vermetid snail they let out a web like secretion for feeding.Look at where the web attaches the snails are small in a encased hard tube with only a little alien looking head peeking out.Reef safe

I do see it mostly when the lights are low.Although i do see them in the early day. I don't think it's tube worms.

I don't really see them until sediment or glass is cleaned then the fine particals attach to the web and the snail slowly reel in the catch.Vermetid snail are stationary and don't look anything like a normal snail.
