Peppermint Shrimp for Aiptasia Control

Are Peppermint Shrimp are good for controlling Aiptasia?

i put 2 peps in my 40 gal and they cleaned it up within days

i think they are hit or miss, i put one in an old 10g and it did nothing.

i realised it is important to make sure the shrimp are hungry--they would rather eat fish food

There are two kinds of pep shrimp, each from a different area. One eats apstasia and the other dose not. I think it's the one from australia, but I could very well be wrong. Google it and you'll come up with something.

i think one is a camel back that looks and is sold as a pep but doesn't eat it

I've heard that they will only eat the tiny aptasia's....which is just the experience we've had with them. We put a bunch in our 120, but unfortunately, I think our Sally Lightfoot crab might have gotten one or two of them.

I have, however, just been doing some reading on a species of Nudibranch....Berghia....and supposedly all these guys eat is aptasia. I just put an order in for a bunch of them.....we'll see.

I think the hump back one your talking about is a carmel shrimp. I have recently been researching these because I was going to buy two which I have now and a few sites I ran into said there are two pep and then the carmel.
