Well I finally got my Phoenix 14k bulbs and the cesps look great under it. I find that the colors on the coral are more blue the closer they are to the light. For a while they were in the corner receiving indirect light but now they are right under the halides and loving it.

Growth rate on this coral is so-so but ever since I have started topping off with pickling lime, the glitters in the coral are more apparent and show up brightly, so perhaps high calcium makes the glitters in the coral show up better. The base of mine are more blue than the rest of the body also.

Page 4 has some cesps that look pretty blue. I don't think you will find a SOLID blue blue like crayon blue cesp though. Lighting can make a big difference.........still looks bette than a normal xenia and the glitters are what is so cool about this coral.

Anyone noticed Color Shifts in Cespitularia?
I orderd a colony of it several months back at my work, we got it in and it has done wonderful ever since, whats odd is that we keep the colony in the SPS display, which in there it is very light pink, no blue, when I make frags and move it to our Vat system, the color quickly turns blue and pink polyps... I suppose its a difference in nutrient content...

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this...

Its a really quick grower which is good!
This coral could kinda be used as a nutrient monitor?... what do you guys think?
