Is this a Sundial Snail?

Looks similar to one I used to have. Does it have a big spike looking thing near its head? (Sorry, I'm not up on my snail terminology)

Thought the sundial snails were round and somewhat flat. Heliacus variegatus. Pyramid snail maybe.

Definitely not.
You'll more than likely find them on your favorites zoos rather than on the gravel like that. |

best way to tell is one, if its eating you r zoos and two take it out, flip it over and look for the trap door by its head.

that snail is either a whelk, maybe some kind of cerith snail. cant tell from that pic for sure. it looks a lot like a snail i seen munching on a monti cap in the LFS one day.

Sundials are flat and have a circular patten on their shell........kind o like a actual sundial. Plus you will see them next to the zoos.
Do you see the snail in the pic on the glass eating algae or maybe going after food that you feed the tank? |
