MH options?
I think that I am finally ready to try MH's. Over the years, I have used NO's, VHO's and now I am currently using (6) 48" T5's over my 90. The T5's are fine but I want to try a simpler, time proven setup. Would (2) of these

My current setup consists of Coralvue electronic ballasts and Reeflux 10k bulbs. Very white with just a touch of blue. I just switched from a magnetic PFO firing XM 10k's which I liked a lot and had good growth but I went to 250w.
That setup you linked is pretty nice. It depends on what kind of look you're going for as far as bulb choices are concerned. I personally don't like blue tanks so which is why I run 10k bulbs and I don't use any actinics.

XM 10k 250 watt on a PFO-HQI with VHO actinic.
I'm a HUGE believer in 10k MH bulbs. I don't think they give the most aesthetically pleasing appearance, but I think they are the best for compromising coral growth and color with aesthetic appeal. Also, I tried 1000 watt, 400 watt, and now 250 watt and the best coloration has been with my current setup using 250 watt XM 10k on PFO-HQI ballasts with VHO actinic bulbs for supplementation. Everyone has a preference but 10k plus VHO actinic works for me.
I like your choice and say "go for it!" Joe
