Question browning GSP

in certain areas of my GSP a light brown algea is covering the base and its not comming off by water so i was thinking about going to osco and picking up the softest toothbrush there and lightly scrub it off is this a bad or a good idea?? other areas of the GSP just finaly decided to show there faces and these that are covered im a little worryed what do i do?

You can take it out of the tank and give it a light scrub with a toothbrush in some tank water (water not to be reintroduced). A good idea to do around water changing time. The GSP will be ticked off, and I would not be surprised if they do not open for days or even over a week. Better to deal with them being upset over a brushing then to have them smothered in algae.

Be sure the algae does not return but being on top of your nutrient control.

i jsut recently added a skimmer so that should help
