AEP: Time of day meter
Does anyone here have a 'time of day' electric meter? I was reading some time back that people in other areas are signing up for time of day meters and reaping big savings. Based upon what others are saying, you pay slightly higher rates during peak hours, but get huge saving during off peak. Anyone familar with this?

I have but I don't think it is available here. You would probably need to call AEP to find out for sure. Then be sure to post what you find out here.

I have not called yet, but I did dig up the following PDF.
https://www.appalachianpower.com/glo...ff07-17-07.pdf This is saying the charge is 9.60 cent per KWH for peak and 2.52 cents per KWH off peak. Peak is defined 7AM - 9PM M-F. The link mentions you get an additional $12.60 a month charge to get the time of day service meter. I don't know if this is available to everyone and even it will help. Just posting a little more information that I ran across. |
