All pictures look great.....now for the advice, I don't want to come off sounding rude, but I went through this with other types of pictures.
#1 would have looked better if you would have cleaned the glass first. #2 Look a little over exposed, watch your flash #3 A little bit cropped to close, would have looked better with more background #4 Looks good but would have looked better with a little more DOF you can make this type of picture look better if you darken the background...Hope you don't mind here is what Im taking about all in all looks good |

Edwing206,
Those are very nice pics. The tripod made a huge difference for my shaky hands too. bckane, I like how you darkened the background.. Did you do that in photoshop? If so, how? Prime

Not to put edwing206 down...I think they look great. I started shooting pictures of my tank and I found out if you shot at a lower Fstop you will get a darker backround. I shoot photo of my tank with a 100mm macro lens. BTW yes Edit was done in CS3 selected the backround and adjusted the levels.
BTW edwing206 hope you dont mind me editing your photo |

Not sounding rude at all. I appreciate your advice and showing how I can make the picture look better. I actually didn't crop the pictures at all, I just had the lens zoomed in all the way. I'll zoom out a little bit next time. I didn't use flash so how can I not overexpose the pictures?
And thank you primetime33.

Maybe you want to under expose your pictures a little.....Maybe its just me but looks a little washed out....need a little depth. BtW Im no expert on taking the best pictures...these are just the comments I get from other people about my shots. What Im finding out is taking pictures of underwater is much harder the taking pictures out in the bright sunlight |

I'm running 500 watts of MH on my 60 so it's kinda a lot of light. I tested different settings to see what came out best. I'll keep seeing what comes out best.

The BTA pic looks a bit on the blurry side. But all the others are GREAT. With the advice they are getting better and better.
Keep it up!!!

edwing206 remember one thing...when shooting with long shutter speeds, like with the BTA 1/20 with the water movement you will get blurry pictures bump up your shutter speed to 1/60 and try again

Thanks for the comments and advice guys.
I keep forgetting to turn off the flow. I'll try to remember next time. I'll try 1/60 when I get the chance.
