Yellow Tang's odd behavior.

My Yellow Tang, which I've had for 4 or 5 years is behaving peculiarly. Recently he has been hanging out in a rear corner of the tank. He'll swim back and forth along the bottom part of that corner. He will leave and does eat. He still swims where ever he wants in the tank. It's almost like he is nesting in that corner. He hovers around and kicks up the sandbed a little. This has created a slight depression in the sandbed. Does anyone know what he is up to?

I can see no signs of external parasites or disease. So, I'm at a loss to his current behavior. Recenltly, I've been feeding him Grape Caulerpa several times a week. He appears to love the stuff. In the first year I had him, he lost much of his dorsal fin to HLLE . In the last few months, he has regenerated a substantial amount of his dorsal. So to me, he appears to be in perfect health.

i cant explain the odd behavior but tangs are mass open water spawner's so it's not nesting

i've kept tangs for close to 30 yrs now and notice that when they go through growth spurts they tend to be more shy then normal spending time 'resting' and hiding.
