Thanks for the compliments. My sump is custom from PM and skimmer is Deltec 851.
Here's a shot of the stand. I took the picture w/ flash, but the wood is really dark stained walnut.

It looks beautiful.
How is the glass bonded to the PVC bottom? Do you have any pictures that show the glass/PVC edge closely? Looks gorgeous - good luck with stocking! jayo |

Here's Aquarium Environments You need to contact Jaime Depujades and ask him about naka's 180 starphire tank. These guys are pretty impressive. They travel all over the states to setup monster size aquariums. Just this year they went to Jerry Ritzow, president of All- Glass Aquarium Co. house to redo his personal freshwater tank. Thanks, James |

Delicious tank. God bless you for not ruining it with a rock wall look.

BTW, I most likely will be getting the same lighting set-up. I recommended the single 250 to a buddy and it's definitely the coolest and 'coolest' (temp. wise) unit I have ever come across.

Is there any glass on the bottom of the aquarium or is it just a piece of PVC? What made you decide to have a PVC bottom instead of a traditional glass one? Is it stronger, lighter, cheaper???
Looks great! jayo |

It's definitely stronger b/c I'm going to borrow a quote from a fellow reefer from MARSH. "tedu" explained the open top no brace tank theory. I hope you don't mind tedu for quoting you? "Highest concentration of forces in a tank are going to be on the bottom / lower sides as opposed to the top. (Weight of water, hydrostatic pressure, etc). Much of the purpose of bracing on standard tanks is to prevent bowing of the glass. Contruction method deals with most of this. The bottom is PVC (i.e. plastic) and has a groove routed in it for the glass." Quote:
