I love the way that before you are a paying member and you can't search something it says for better searches please consider becoming a mebmer...

From what I gather from past questions on the subject, it doesn't have anything to do with bandwidth or hardware. This version of vbPortal doesn't handle searches well. When you search, it searches EVERY post ever made, then filters the results for you to see, which chokes the software when too many people do it. It would be upgraded already but it's been heavily modified so any migration has to be very carefully planned, with limited volunteer admin staff. It's in the works though.
