Thats just another down side of smoking...if you do quit you will still get cravings for the rest of your life... My step mom quit 3 years ago and still has nic fits.

My name is Carrie, and I am a nicotine addict.
I have stopped nicotine for 15 days, 13 hours, 3 minutes and 18 seconds (15 days).

I've not smoked 311 death sticks, and saved $77.77.
I've saved 1 day, 1 hour and 54 minutes of my life.

I was thinking the same thing. Two weeks = 1 day ---- BIG DEAL!

Quitting is so hard! I need to quit again. At one point I had quit cold turkey for two years. When I started back, it was like I never stopped - right back to a pack a day. The cravings were still there. I suspect they always will be when I do quit again. Getting past the first couple weeks was the hardest part.

And whoever mentioned the sense of smell that comes back when you quit - I noticed that too. Big time! I could smell stuff I wish I couldn't. Ugh. Especially things like car exhaust or chemical stuff - made it so I almost couldn't breathe.

I'm on Day 38! Not taking the Chantix anymore. I stopped taking it last week as it was still bothering my stomach even though I was eating with it.

Still hanging in here as well.....and I'm still one roaring b.......! By my estimates, I should be less grouchy sometime in the spring.

Aboot 4 months for me.

I was prolly 10 pounds heavy when I quit and gained another 15. I've dropped 9 pounds in the past 2 weeks.

By the end of January I expect to be back to my fightin weight and will be a lean mean RC posting machine.

I'm so proud of you guys. You really did it! Once I get over the holidays and year-end and this darn back stuff, I'm gonna go back on the chantix and give it another go. I may even drag Aliie (probably kicking and screaming) along with me!!!!!

Keep up the good work - you're an inspiration!

How did everyone do over the holiday? I'm on Day 43! I managed to get through Christmas Eve without smoking. First time I attempt to drink after I quit smoking. A few times I thought I wanted a cig but poured myself another glass of champagne instead. 2 1/2 bottles later...

Glad you made it thru without lighting up Carrie. When you have the desire to smoke - just drink more booze!

I'm in that one as well.

I have dropped 8 pounds in the past two weeks. I'm trying to just maintain (not gain) any weight this week.
