Question ID's Please!

I have a few of these feathery growths on the live rock. 3 of them are white, and one is red. What are they?

The hermit crab has one growing out of his shell! (look to the right)

What sort of snail is this? Thanks!

The ones on your rock will stay that size, but your lfs should sell larger ones.

The tiny feather dusters that come in on live rock never get any larger?

Mine reproduce like crazy, but usually just get 1 - 1 1/2 inches before their crown starts to tear and they die.

If you feed phyto, they'll grow and multiply. Though, they really don't get much bigger. There are lots of bigger worms you can buy though. Feather dusters come in a variety of colors. Also, check out coco worms! I love those.

Yup, the snail is a cerith. It looks like Cerithium menkei, from Baja California or points south.

Cheers,

Don

Feather dusters and cerith. Both are great to have. And yes, LFS's will have some that are huge compared to the ones that you have. Personally though I kinda like the little ones better.
