mag flake

What does everyone use as "mag flake" ?

Um, "Mag Flake." - As in this is the the brand name for Magnesium Chloride.

You guys are so mean..
I assume you mean "Why" do we use magflake?

Mag flake is used in conjunction with Epsom salts and RODI water, to make a solution that will raise the MG levels of your tank and keep everything in balance as it does so.

Umm... thanks guys...

I guess I just wasn't sure if Mag flake was the brand name or what... I haven't used it before.

You can get the bulk products yourself or wait for a group buy when people split up a purchase.

They have articles on how to dose Ca and Alk.

You can also visit the reef chemistry for info on how it all works. There's a sticky thread on Randy's 2 part.
