Both of the ones you are looking at are pretty low quality whne compared to other units in the same price range. This is somewhat typical of large companies trying to cah in on the RO/DI market by rebadging an imported system of questionable quality.
Stick with vendors like those suggested by SlowCobra who build their own units using proven reef quality name brand components. I would add a few others to the list including www.melevsreef.com , www.spectrapure.com and www.purelyh2o.com .

What you are looking for is a 98% rejection rate RO membrane in the 75 GPD to 100 GPD range, the 75 GPD Dow Filmtec is the most popular by far. A vertical refillable DI canister and cartridge, a Matrix brand Carbon Block and a good prefilter in the 1 micron or less range. I would always suggest a good handheld TDS meter and an inline pressure gauge as these are the only way you are going to know if the unit is working and when to change the DI resin and RO membrane. Other things that also prove useful are a RO bypass valve, autoshutoff valve and a capillary tube or adjustable type flow restrictor.

Its hard to compare units by price alone as everyone assembles them with slightly different options and filters. You can get a great unit with everything I mentioned for about $160 to $199 from most if not all of the suggested vendors.

Great unit and the one I use. Give Jim a call or email and they will set you up with the right filters for it to start with. Some people need chloramine filters and others don`t. He will get you straight without selling you something more than you really need.
It works way better than another Ebay brand I started with......
