Jo Jo's Aquarium

Well never thought I would, but got adventurous today and headed down near 47th and Stockton Blvd to check out Jo Jo's. Was very pleased. Great atmosphere, PLENTY of dry goods a nice variety of soft corals and an excellent lps section. Very colorfull, and exceptional deals were found, and, taken advantage of

Even got to see a couple reefin buddies while I was there, who was beside himself cuz he knows I dont do south sac

But will definately have to find my way out that way again, nice store guys and keep up the good work! It shows

Whats happening Justin, I havn't talked to you since the Swap meet.

Is this place very big? Any SPS? Im like you, I don't get that way much, but most have said good things about this place.

I find that each store has something they specialize in better than the others, what would you say that is for this one?

No sps yet but there going to partition off a pretty decent size section for it specifically. Its pretty decent in size in fact I honestly didnt scope everything out and migrated to the coral displays. I cant say that they had anything in particular that the ones up here dont other than it seems that there on a different cycle for that week of stuff coming in which is also nice. Moreso Id say it has all the positive stuff that we got up here but brings the convenience to our S.Sac and ElkGrove neighbors so now they dont have to make the trek up north, at least for the lps Still got to go up for the sps variety though. At least for a little while

Well, since I am an SPS snob, I must turn my nose in disgust until they do. Not many local stores are able to provide the caliber of product a conisour like myself commands, so I do not hold them personally responsible at this current juncture. By the way, do you have any Grey Pupon?

I really wanted to keep it a secret, but I just gotta give my support to this great store. It's nice and clean with great service and some really good prices. Some expensive stuff too, but that's for the really nice stuff that they carry. Salt water section is a little cramped, but they've got plans for expansion and a large cube display.
I just picked up these guys from there for $5/polyp. Great deal I thought, for some premium zoas.

I have to agree...hubby and I stopped in there last weekend for the first time. Very clean, fantastic customer service, and great prices. I liked the fact that they seem to carry some different fish than the norm, in addition to the common sights.

I'll definately be headed back that way in the future.

IMO Exotic Aquarium is much better than Jo Jo's in terms of selections, prices, and customer services.

The fish wall at WalMart blows them all away IMO.

Service? What other LFS has a greeter at EACH entrance?

Prices? There they are clearly marked, even a flyer that comes out weekly for the weekly sales they have.

Selection? Fish, food, tanks, lights, batteries, clothes, DVDs, home furnishings. Which other LFS can you pick up your fish, buy a new chair to watch it in, and the beer to drink in front of it I ask?

Hands down winner, head and shoulders above the rest I tell you!!

There are definitely better LFS's than Jo Jo's. I have met better employees with better services, such as Your Reef and O St. Most of the LFS's has their prices labeled. Jo Jo might have a little bit of everything, but still not that much a selection. Actually, Jo Jo's fish and coral are OK, not impressive. I can find the same thing in Exotic with a lot more selections. I agree that Jo Jo's is one of the cheapest in town.

I stopped by there on Sunday since I was in the area and was quite impressed with their softy selection and pricing. They had a decent variety for the size of their store.

I'm not into FW, but they had an amazing selection of Discus there. Oddly enough, I didn't see a single Discus at Exotic. Weird.
