Pc Lighting Malfunction
Hello everyone. I have a Coralife 4 x 65 watt pc fixture and I was trying to change a burnt out bulb when I could not get the rubber end cap to come off. I had to break the bulb to get the end cap off and I still had trouble after that. I am wondering if maybe anyone else has had this trouble? The tank sweats a little at night and I am wondering if this could have anything to do with it or if maybe the light just got to hot. I have a 4 inch fan running in the canopy and never have any heat build up issues insid the canopy itself. The fan doesn't start until 1 hour after the blue bulbs have been on and is off one hour before the blue bulbs go off at night. It is on the same timer as the white bulbs in otherwords. In light of the situation (no pun intended) I have moved the fan to the same timer as the blue bulbs so that it will be on during the entire light cycle to try to cut back on the lights sweating. If anyone has any suggestions on what could have gone wrong, please share.
Thanks, Jeff |

Any salt creep/corrosion in the rubber boot?

No, there is no salt creep. I noticed the the reflector screw was kinda rusty on that side though. So I'm thinking it's the condensation.

i agree, It's odd that you get the condensation though, I never get any on my hood. Running the fans longer would probably be a good idea to clear out the humidity level trapped in the hood as the bulbs cool. I run two 4 inch 60cfm fans in my hood one in one out at opposite ends of the hood, The back is fairly open too though. Never had any kind of condensation at all.
