Why do my shrimp wiggle?

They just hang there and sway from side to side. Both of my cleaners and all of my pepperminys do it... why?

That's what I thought, so I took all their booze away and they still do it.

Perhaps high water flow that is coming from both sides of the tank pushes them back and forth.

Are they in powerful flow spots that alternate from side to side?

NO, it's not flow. My Pepp's hang underneath a really low chunk of rock with minimal flow and they cha-cha all the time.

Exactly. Cleaner shrimp especially like to sway side to side to sort of say "Hey! C'mon over here and get a free cleaning!". My Skunk Cleaner does it and I fall for his "commercial" and put my hand in there so he can clean it and have a little feeling of accomplishment .
