center brace for a filled 150

What method would you use to brace a 150 gallon tank that is already filled and running??

(The original brace had to be cut off.)

Depends on a few things.

1. What material is the tank made out of?

2. Is there any thing left of the original brace?

But as a side note, you probably want to put some sort of temp bracing on there now. 150 gallons of water exerts a lot of pressure, and could be leading towards a tank failure.

Also... do you have anything hanging on the back?

If not, take a full sheet of acrylic and create a eurobrace. 1/4" is fine. Cut access holes. The eurobrace should fit perfectly inside the rim of your existing trim. Use a 2-part epoxy and glue the entire brace to the rim including the existing or cracked brace. DONT clamp!!! LOL If you need to set some bricks on the brace to assure a good adhesion and let it cure. Try not to, but dont worry if any epoxy drips into tank... 2-part epoxy is what many reefers use to glue frags. Good luck and do it soon.

Your doomed!!!!

.... sell the tank and find a new hobby.

No but for real..
use some pressure treated wood, screws, and water proof epoxy.

make a U brace and sit it on the top.

Make 2 small ones for the sides so that the lights sit evenly.

If anyone has any better suggestions, please contribute.
