Happy new year to you as well Charlie. I'm guessing that the increase in frequency of your post means you are done lobstering for the year. Have you installed your t5's yet? My montis are beginning to color up under mine. The overall verdict is still out, but less heat and energy seems like a good thing.

I went with the Nova Extreme 8x54 watter 3-actinics, 5-10k's sweet light. now i'm looking for 2-250's MH's with all the goodies to change the 2-175's out on my 90G

Depending on the access we have to the ballast in the box it might be as simple as dropping in a couple of 250W ballasts and using the same hood set-up. Often times they put in some sort of foam heat shield and seal them up making access difficult.
