Methinks a 1200mm lens would be pretty much useless. I mean, at that level of zoom, the earth's curvature will come in to play!

big lenses are only for bird shooters and sky shooters... otherwise they're pretty darn useless and huge...

And I just happen to be a bird and wildlife shooter! Its perfect for my needs! And it comes in at a slim 36lbs .

I'm so not used to big lenses, I usually use small pancakes... or pancakes compared to yours =)
