I should be more as I have only lived in OK(28 yrs) and TX (8 yrs). Why is pop a northern word? I have used that word for as long as I can remember!

Who considers Oklahoma part of the south?
I'm currently living in Charlottesville, VA (home to Thomas Jefferson and the University of Virginia) and people (mostly Northerners) try to tell me that we're in the south . . . I'm like, "No way, no one here sells Sweet Tea, there's like one BBQ place in town, and I had to drive 650 miles north to get here!" And most of Florida is really displaced Northerners (though the rest are hard core rednecks akin to South GA or AL).
