I don't think its redbugs...Im not sure if somethings trying to eat it or not...if so its at night!!Ill look closer tonight

now its 2 spots on it!! Ill take a 100mm macro shot tonight and see If I can get a better shot...

Its attached to the rock so hard to remove...I removed the colony because I thought it could have been flat worms and the frag grew back and done the same thing!

...just a thought, maybe a crab or other pest.

A while back I noticed white/dead spots on some corals in the strangest spots (not the top or bottom, maybe a branch halfway up)...eventually I found a little jerk of a crab would come out when the lights were out, take a seat on the colony and then have a midnight snack.

I never lost anything...other than a crab that took a month to catch. The corals never seemed to be affected and always maintained good PE even after being nibbled on.

Of course it could be something else completely...

I had seen a camel shrimp nipping at SPS polyps before getting rid of it, could be the culprit.

Good luck catching that guy...I've heard those Camel shirmp are even more jerks than most crabs.

BTW - I get up early (so I can sit in traffic all morning) so wheen I was having the troubles, before leaving I would use a flashlight to scan the tank daily and kept supplies ready to catch or kill the crab...it was always out thumbing its nose at me but in the end with patience (and a sharp stick) I got it out of the tank.
