Reeflux 10k preliminary review

Chad hooked me up with a couple on Thursday. All I can say is wow. Blues really do pop like you have seen on pics on here. They do have a slight pinkish tint similar to vho, which imo is bettter than a slight yellow tint on the xms. Oddly enough, pinks don't look as good with these bulbs. They are slightly less bright than the xms but are very bright for a bulb in that color range. Growth remains to be seen, but so far so good.

Yesterday, when I came in the house my tank caught me out of the corner of my eye b/c the blues were so nice.

Ok here are four pics. In the interest of full disclosure. These are raw images converted into jpeg. The settings are all as the camera sees with the exception of saturation which was adjusted to simulate the "pop" these corals give of in real life. The last stag pic does not do it justice. It glows a bright light blue.

Dave- You can't post pics without a Full Tank Shot! It's against the rules.

^ Thats what I was hoping for too. Id like the see the over all look of these bulbs as far as brightness and blueness.

Remember that rule when you post pics with your bulbs installed Rick

Your corals look nice and healthy though Dave.

I just got mine today. I only got one to see how it will look on my tank. I have mixed emotions about it in the 3 hours its been on the tank. It maybe a little bit too pink on my ballast....but I do love what it does to blue corals!

Its easy to see which side is which. I dunno. I cant remember what type it was, but Stephen let me borrow a bulb that was a little pink. This kind of reminds me of it. I guess its better for intensity than the blue bulbs, but has a similar effect color wise on the corals.

You really have to see it in person. It is so hard to get it in a pic. Like I said above yellow tint or pink tint, thats a personal choice, but blues really are something else.

Ok here are some tank shots. Again a little monkeying around with brightness saturation and hue to try to get it as close to as it looks with the eye.

It makes me miss my grown in tank. I get sick when I look at old pics

Dave- Don't worry, it won't be long and your tank will back to "normal".
I think it still looks awesome.

OK- So I did find something I like about the bulb so far. Here is the blue milli before then after

Try to look through the reflection in the lights. I need to paint the sides of my top down box

Rick,

Im liking the color of the reeflux bulb. I think you should stick with that, I know you said the color change is a little pink or whatever, but I think it makes your corals look sharp!
