T-5 Fixtures for a 33.

I have a fairly unique display tank...
It's a 33L - 48x12x12

I'm researching some inexpensive T-5 lighting fixtures to replace my canopy that currently has 2x54w T-5 retrofits in them. I'm tired of dealing with the oversized canopy for a small tank, and the retros are a PITA if you ask me.

I'm looking at the Current Nova Extreme:
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...2&pcatid=12772

But the problem is that the fixture is 14" wide
If I run this, will my moonlights even shine into the tank???

What other options do I have for this relative price range?

I have a 33L I was thinking about and I asked the same question. Seems like the Sundial fixture with 4 bulbs instead of the Pro's six would be PLENTY of light for that shallow of a tank.

there are 2 48" nova extreme fixtures there is an 8 bulb and a 4 bulb the 4 is only7.25" wide if its only 12 inches deep the 4 bulb should be plenty of light to keep what you want. It would be a perfect fixture for it.

Check out the Current USA Sundial T5HO.
I have the 24" model over an ADA 10g 9dry) tank, testing the timers, fan, etc. Had it for about 10 days. See the specs at Current USA. Ck Prices at DrFosterSmith, marinedepot and other sites.

I got mine at Marine Depot. Came with no broken pieces and works exactly like it should. It has separate timers for actinics & whites, and a photocell for the lunar lights. A blue lens covers turns the white lunar to blue and it only has one power cord for the whole unit. A great light so far.

Premium Aquatics seems to have the best prices on the Sundial and Extreme Pro fixtures FYI.

Ah, good to know. The Dr Fosters link I provided above is misleading. It says 14" as the width on the unit, but that must be for the 8 bulb unit.

That is the unit I'll probably pull the trigger on, but that Sundial unit is pretty enticing with the timers, one plug, photo-cell, etc.

Yea its the 8 tube thats 14" wide. The sundial is kinda cool makes it so u dont have to use a timer and just one clean cord, but i think you would pay more for basicly the same amount of light. I dont konw if dr foster and smith sell the 4 tube but im sure u can find it somewhere. Anyway post a pic of the setup if you can.
