I'm in the same boat! I've been offering cyclopeeze and shredded frozen mysis with a drop of garlic for a couple of days now. I have been trying to add the BBS about 15 minutes later, then waiting about 1/2 hour after that to remove any uneaten frozen food. Today, I put the frozen in, then went to mess around with my reef. When I went back, all the fry were on the bottom! I didn't see anybody snick, so I'll watch better at lunch....
I think the hardest part is letting them be hungry enough to try something new! You might get more response to this on the seahorse forum. There are quite a few nice people there breeding seahorses. Good luck! |

A lot depends on the species. IME erectus can usually be weaned to Hikari mysis (small like brine shrimp) as early as 5 weeks and should be fully weaned by 8 weeks tops. Once they can eat adult live brine shrimp start mixing in some frozen, they won't know the difference. From there it's an easy switch to the mysis. Some fry will take frozen cyclops very early on but that doesn't seem to help a lot with switching to mysis. Agreed on taking this to the seahorse forum or better yet seahorse.org. You will access many more people/ ideas that way.
