Royal Grammas???

I was interested in breeding Royal Grammas. I can't find detailed info anywhere on doing this. My tank is 100 gallons. I have 50# LR, 60# LS, a FLuval 404, a Dual BakPak Skimmer, a 15 gallon refugium, and a 9 watt UV sterilizer. My water quality is pH 8.2, salinity 1.024, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 10, and calcium 520. Inhabitants are lots of snails, 2 starfish, and 2 cleaner shrimp. it is currently stocked with zoanthids, leathers, and star polyps. Total time of setup is 15 months. Any ideas or suggestions?

There is a post not so long ago, maybe 6 months, about royal grammas, i put some info in there as did others, have another search, also search for just gramma as this will get you black cap info.

What did you want to know about breeding them?

That tank would work fine just need to establish a pair or harem, i just got one big (male) and one small (female) , i think it might have been luck though, and i needed it they are $100 fish here.

Actually there is a lot of info on G. loreto , I have been using it to study up for black caps. Search around and you'll find it. Also Scott Michaels Basslets, Dottybacks & Hawkfishes has a nice section on them.

Thanks guys for the links. Good thing Royal Grammas are very reasonable in the states!!! Will the cleaner shrimp be a problem to the nest and eggs? What about other critters like hermit crabs?

i wouldnt think so, my gramma is big enough to belt up any shirmp (aside form a mantis) that get to near, mine male is in a 1inch plumbing pipe section with an end cap on one end, if your hermit are bigger its easy to keep them out if smaller i would thinkt he fish would keep them under control.
