Bangaiis have predeterminate sex at birth?
Hi,
Do you know if Bangaiis (Pterapogon kauderni) have predeterminate sex at birth? What's the best way to form a pair? Thank you, Ricardo |

I would assume that the sex would be fixed at birth in this species, they show no heram behaviour which would be indicative of a species changing sex. i think they are probably fixed.

Fixed at hatching. There is no visable difference in the sex unless the male is holding or very recently held.
Pairing... the most reliable technique. Get a known male (has held fry) and place another fish with him. If they fight you have another male, if they dont you have a female. |
