I think you have to have at least a Bachelors degree to be an educator. It is definatly not something you want to try and DIY. Some social skills are needed.

Fluid dynamics work is the bulk of my job as an engineer. The eductor design in those links does roughly nothing at all except take up space. In some thread I took the time to mathamatically show why, but of course people aren't interested in that...
The shapes of eductors has been perfected over many years of using them for everything from Navy boat bilge pumps powered by the high pressure water feeds in the fire control systems to comercial fuel blending tanks to make your gasolines. The design needs to be very close to the designs we see in the comerical units to perform in a useful way. If you wish to create a functional DIY eductor, here is a method. http://archive.reefcentral.com/forum...hlight=eductor Best Wishes, -Luke |

One thing to remember, is that there is now a good eductor on the market that is pretty cheap. You can get it for less than 20 bux and it includes a 3 section of ball and socket adjustable tubing (loc-line).
http://www.jensalt.com/cgi-bin/ic/standard/pc20072.html Not that DIY is not cheaper, but for less than 20 bux it is a lot easier to go with the commercial version, it is does work very well.

I have one and they do make a big difference. I decided to go a different route on my tank, but when I had it installed, it did work as advertised.

Yes I got mine from them. I have it connected to a T4 pump and it seems to make a big difference in flow.
