Exclamation Concern about plate coral!!

I've had plate coral in my tank since yesterday afternoon and it has not opened, changed size or moved at all since I put it in the tank. Should it have done so by now? It is a neon green, short tenticled, very small, nano sized. I have a 12g nano cube dx, 8 weeks old, 20lbs LS, 12lbs LR, 6 turbo snails, 2 peppermint shrimp, 2 tiny false percs, for flow I have a mini jet 606 set at low (79 gph), plus the return pump at 106gph. Lighting is 48W 50/50 PC. I tried offering it a piece of krill with the lights both on and off...nothing. It is still very bright green no sign of bleaching or tears, and it is on the sand bed. Does it just need time to adjust or should it have responded in someway by now? at 4pm today it was 24 hrs that it's been in there. Jus getting concerned. Also, my water parms are:

temp: 80
salintinty: 1.023
Ph: 8.0
Alk: 10
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 5
calcium: 400

What are you measuring that "salinity" with?

Is this your first coral? If not - do other corals look okay? Was it open in the store?

A glass hydrometer, I guess specific gravity is a better term to use, it's my 1st coral in this tank, but not my 1st coral ever, and yes it was open in the store.

[welcome]

By the way

Ok - so we're reasonably sure that the salinity is ok... Just ruling out the old "trusting a swingarm hydrometer" part of the equation.

What lights did the LFS have it under?

I don't know specifically but it was in a larger tank, 90 G? so probably stronger than mine. I t had a variety of corals and polyps for sale in it and everything looked great. I bought a colony of GSP out of the same tank and they are doing great, they are all open swaying in the current.

Give it another day or 2. Did it happen to slime your tank after you introduced it?

Odds are it is just getting acclimated to your tank and will make an appearance over night while lights are off (read: time for red flashlight)

Is ok, I have moved 2 of these things in recent months and both got pretty upset about being moved and slimed my tanks. They did take about 48 hours to hang out their sweepers again however.
