octo filtration

im setting up a 50 gallon octo tank and was wondering if my filtration plans would be good? is it advised or required to have a wet-dry or other filter system?

i WILL have a protein skimmer rated up to 250 gallons though (leftover from another tank). is the huge skimmer good enough or do i need to have more?

thanks.
