# newly mounted Icecap ballasts interfering with TV?
I just mounted my 3 250w IC ballasts in my fish closet and when I turn them on, this messes up the picture of my plasma TV, that's mounted on the same wall ( 15 feet apart).
Anyone else have this problem? I was told to purchase a filtering surge protector for the TV to prevent this from happening. Something similar to this. http://tinyurl.com/n79st Can someone give me some opinions on what to do? Thanks.

I have 2x250w IC ballast installed on top of the tank canopy and have no problem with my LCD rear projector TV 10ft away.

It's probably not about distance, but it IS about being on the same circuit. As an experiment, try an extension cord running to a room on a different breaker.

my phone gets really fuzzy when i go near my EVC electronic 250watt ballast. just a thought. may be circut related since they do draw a lot of power.

mmakay has it right! you are running the tv on the same circuit. you need to dedicate your aquarium needs to their own circut, or to another circuit that is not shared by anything that can be interfiered with. Cheers

The tank has 2 dedicated 20 amp circiuts, seperate from the house.
So, the TV and ballasts are running on seperate circuits.
