Alk Test!

Can someone recomend a good Alk test. My RedSea test stinks. I can't seem to narrow down the color on the chart ( Maybe I'm color-blind).

For a "not so bad" one, and not so expensive, try a Hagen maybe, easy to read, easy to use.. just convert the mg/L into meq/L or dkh

Oh, right.. Salifert... sorry, we don't get them down here in Canada that's why I never mentioned them.. but if you can get your hands on that then that's your best bet, for any test kit. They *seem* a little pricey though? 30$ a kit?

The price depends on where you look. I bought the alk test kit from an online shop for $16.12 after tax

I use Saliferts also, good test kit. I run the two part diy additive, so I need an accurate test kit.

Bought Salifert Alk test kit for $14 + shipping online. I had bad experiences with FasTest Alk kits that were VERY inaccurate. I've been using Salifert since and haven't had any problems. The extra few bucks is well worth it imo.

I use salifert for Alk and Ca testing. They are the only kits I use. I also check pH with a meter. Those three are the only test I do routinely.
