Question for the magazine creators

Dear Creators of Reef Central's Magazine:

I wanted to say that I am very impressed with your magazine. I really enjoy the coverage you have on private tank dealers, the science of reef keeping, and of course the beautiful pictures displayed.

I also wanted to say that I really like the fact that you have created this free magazine for the community. I also have a question about creating magazines because I am looking to create a magazine for my community as well (don’t worry it is not a marine magazine).

I was just curious if you could give me some tips on how to:

* keep the magazine free
* to distribute the magazine
* to get other public service organizations involved in your cause

I would really enjoy all of your feed back on this topic. Please post what ever information you can as soon as most convenient for you.

Regards,

BginoP

Hey there. Thanks for the nice comments!

We are fortunate enough to have a large sponsor base on Reef Central and some of the income from this is applied to paying the magazine expenses. The magazine is strictly Internet based via the website and we use a server similar to the one used for Reef Central to 'distribute' the magazine. I don't think there are many public service organizations involved at all with the magazine, although many of their members are likely readers of the magazine.
