t5 retro fit question

Hey has any one tried to run a t5 retro kit with a ice cap 660 or 430 yet i have tried it twice and i cant get the bulbs to stay on. The ballast works great the bulbs work they fire up but dont stay on any help would be greatly appreciated

Yes, I run two T5's on a 660 as supplemental lighting to halides.
No problems. Check your wiring, check for a bad bulb. I'm not sure if the Icecap thermally protects the bulbs but if it does, and you ahve no fan cooling across the lamps and they are in a hot or enclosed space, that would do it. But check with ice cap on the thermal issue if it's not the wiring or bulb.

Also, you cant exceed a certian bulb number or bulb length for either ballast.

i just was testing the system out all i did was hook up the bulbs with the wiring and stuff and try to fire the ballast up and i get the bulbs to go on and immediately go off and not come back on they arent on a hood and they dont go on for more than a half second so heat isnt an issue this is a completely new set up the same exact thing happened with my friends ice cap t5 retrofit but he traded that in for a hamilton premade set up i dont know it is crazy thanks

you have to make sure the end caps snap onto the stands. this is really hard and it requires ALOT of force but thats probbaly your problem.
