14K photoperiod?

Hey all. I hope to keep a clam under 150w 14K phoenix in a shallow tank. I also have a 24w 10K PC to balance out the color (I dont like the "too blue" look).

Anyway, I currently have my MH photoperiod from 5pm to 11pm (when I see the tank the most and when its cooler outside).

The PC runs from 10a-12midnight....this way the tank isnt dark when the MH isnt running.

Is 6 hours of MH enough per day, or should I increase it?

Thanks!

How do you determine what the best photoperiod is. I had my MH running 10 hrs and VHO/actinics 12. I cut then back to 8 on MH and 10 on VHO, only because I saw where others had shorter periods.
