Thanks JackRent. PM me if you want to talk about the business. I don't want to do it in the forums.

Yeah my Idol and Atlantic Blues used to be in the same tank. I had to move the Idol to my 110 when he ate just about every piece of coral in my tank!

Copps and BlueNWhite,
The single picture may be a male as mine looks similar to the others in the pic of them eating. He/she does darken at times. His/her blue lines are different than the ones in that pic and his/her face is sometimes golden in color and he/she has a small hump on the head. he/she also does not have streamers. Mine is 13+ inches long, I actually measured him/her.

I have seen a smaller one in another RC members tank that had the exact same color pattern as mine but had the long streamers. I wonder if that one in the single pic is another fish or from a different area?

Here's one where the pumps are shut off, so everyone was freaked out, but you could see my hybrid cruising...

Thanks Copps. Almost looks like two different species of fish. As I stated, I did see a smaller one with the same coloring as mine but it had streamers where as mine dosent. Guess I have an adult female and his was still a subadult and may have been changing to a male.

Copps - is that 2 Regal Angels in your 180? I've always loved your tanks. Loved your old 65g that got TOTM way back when. And if the 180g is going to get an upgrade - I think you'll be getting it again. But the 180g is already extreme TOTM material.

No, it's actually a trio! I've had them for almost a full year now... no spawning yet but close too it... I met up with Rafael at MACNA who has a spawning pair, with video here... , and Frank Baensch of RCTHawaii.com at his facility on Oahu last year which inspired even more... I also go to Guam regularly on business where regals are very common and are witnessed everywhere...

More related to tangs, we need to see more mixing of pairs... Rafael at the above link has a spawning pair of purple tangs also in his system. Frank Baensch of RCT has rare Centropyge we only see in books breeding in barrels! When I upgrade I plan on attempting this, possibly with my Christmas Island black tang which is my favorite despite what my wife says... she likes the yellow which is 1/15th the price (which she doesn't know of course! ) Too many hohum tanks with one of this and one of that... advance the hobby and try something different!

Anyway, here's the image again showing all three regals... the black tang is in the center of the shot... it was with flash under actinics only so it's a bit weird...

When I upgrade which I hope is soon, I will gladly be the guinea pig on some Tang pairs. There is some turmoil at work and when that settles down I am all over the upgrade. I am hoping for buil-out this summer and hopefully flowing water and fish by mid - late fall.

hondadude... nice little goldrim... that species naturally hybridizes with powder blues (which mine shown above is), and achilles in Hawaii... here's a pic of an achilles/goldrim hybrid... Pretty sweet eh? The orange in the tail is a dead giveaway! (Forgive me... it's 4:30 on a Friday at work!)

copps.
I have a pair of Naso's in my tank and would love to learn some more about them and how to possibly mate them. They have grown up together in the tank for the last 3 years or so. I have heard that they spawn while swimming up and down in the water colum which would sugest that you would need a deep tank. My tank is 3' deep but I do not think that will be deep enough. Any info or sites you could pass along would be appreicated.

Copps- sweet looking mix. When I get my house built i am gonna have a pretty large tank in it. I am hoping to create more than just a reef environment. i want to have the whole ocean in 1 tank aggressive, peaceful and the like. I want natures course to take place in there. natural enemies, natural food chain, and natural reproduction. Well thats what I hope for anyway.

Blownchevy everything I've ever seen, talked about, or read has been regarding spawning of Zebrasoma species tangs in captivity generally. This makes the most sense, as their adult sizes are small and the demand is huge in the hobby... Your nasos I would imagine not spawn in even your large system... The issue is not the spawning, but the raising of the young. For private ventures like RCThawaii.com it's got to be cost effective... He used to breed and sell captive bred flame angels but now specializes in the more high dollar Centropyge. Tangs could no doubt be done, it's just a matter of someone doing it... The kicker is that he uses wild caught plankton to feed the young, so us inlanders would have it tougher... Anyway... this is Frank Baensch and I (He's the tall German... I'm the short Italian) at his house in Hawaii overlooking Diamondhead in the background... I'll admit I had thoughts of becoming a beach bum working as his apprentice! A fascinating guy he is and in 100 or 200 years when many of these fish species are available captive raised he'll be known as one of the pioneers . Keep it up Frank!

Back on track... here's an aquacultured 40 day old 1 cm yellow tang... perfect for a nano!

Also... many of you know scopas as the ugly Zebrasoma... but from time to time there are some wicked aberrants like this guy!

I gotta call you out on this because it annoys the crap out of me.

You did NOT take that pic, and you did NOT take it with an Olympus.

Give credit where credit is due.

Jen N Kerry, WHEN are you going to give proper credit for the pics that Merv (Concept3) so graciously took for you and GAVE to you?

No fighting on my thread please. Just great photos of a beautiful family of fish for all to enjoy !!! This is not a photography forum or a forum for a debate over artistic property. I am not planning on buying any photos on RC and I don't really care who took them.
