Please help me id this clam

Does anyone know what type of clam this is and how much they sale for? it is aprox. 3 inches. Thanks in advance.

looks like a maxima with a bit of a gape....although it's hard to tell with the photo- whatever it costs, i'd pass for a healthier specimen-

i actually already bought it but just wanted to make sure i wasn't overcharged. i just finished acclimating it about 2 hours ago, do you think that may be why it is gaping. please help i dont want it to die on me now. is there anything i can do?

well, i may be off, then- give it a few days and see where you are- i wouldn't move it- it may still be acclimating- what kind of lights is it under?

Gape doesn't look to bad. Keep your levels right and it should be fine. As for price- I'd say about 40-50 for a brown 3" retail.

Looks like a crocea to me, gaping isn't too bad, maybe just shipping/acclimating stress. Online, probably 35-50, LFS will shift that price range a little higher.
