ODD: Yellow Watchman Goby & Diamond Goby
Just wondering if anyone has seen this before...
I had a great very bright yellow watchman goby who disappeared one day randomly. After a week I assumed he'd jumped behind the tank where I wouldn't be able to see him. A month later I go out and get a Diamond Goby, who after his initial sandstorm phase settled in. He dug himself a cave and seemed content. This is where it gets odd... After over two months the yellow watchman shows himself! Just hanging on the sand like he'd never left ("Jesus fish syndrome"). So he and the Diamond start harassing each other pretty badly. It starts to look like it could be a battle to the death. Then after two weeks or so things calm down. Now? Now they SHARE a cave that the diamond maintains! They sit next to each other on the sand, brush fins, and hang out. I always thought a 72 gallon *might* be enough space for two gobies if they set up shop in opposite sides, but I never thought I would see them living together. So strange! Anyone have any similar experiences? Is it possible they are opposite genders and that has something to do with it? Baffled and surprised... ~Oyinbo |

Indeed...
This *is* the San Francisco area, so anything is possible! Maybe we'll have a civil union ceremony for them.
